Parking will be available and can be accessed via the gates on Pound Lane, pedestrian access will be via the Year 7 gates on Longfields Road.

LaSWAP Taster Day 2025

Dear Student 

We are pleased to invite you to visit Parmiter's School for our Sixth Form Conference.

The timings of the day will be:-

Current students' book return from 8.30am to 9am 

Registration for offer holders from other schools from 8.45am 

The event will finish for current Parmiter's students at 12.20pm 

From 12.20pm until 1pm, Welcome and introduction for offer holders from other schools 

Students will attend sessions with the Heads of Sixth Form regarding the general principles of learning at A Level and hear about extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities that we offer. 

Students will be able to visit up to four departments for talks from department heads on the content and delivery of their specific A Level courses. The sessions are scheduled in line with the options blocks for next year, and so students should be able to attend sessions on their full set of intended A Levels.  It is an ideal opportunity for students to get a sense of what their chosen A Levels will be like prior to online registration in August.

At the conference, we also provide information on Summer Tasks that each student needs to complete prior to starting the A Level courses. 

Students should wear smart/business attire but do not need to wear school uniform or a suit. Please bring a pen and paper with you on the day.

For Year 11 external applicants and their parents: an opportunity to see Post 16 at the Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy. Please book now for a tour of the Academy, meet with the Post 16 team, a presentation on the curriculum offer and life in Attenborough College. You will also be able to discuss and complete your applications. 

The open events are a great opportunity for you to tour our fantastic campus and meet our amazing teachers and students.
