We invite you to visit our open event, where you'll be able to tour the UTC site, visit classrooms, and speak to members of staff about subjects, transitioning to the UTC, and any other questions you may have.

Our tours are led by our fantastic Student Ambassadors, ensuring that 'Future Students' can really understand what it's like to study at Berkeley Green UTC.

Our Insight Day has been designed for you to see what your A-Level subjects look like in action. You'll meet your subject teachers and they'll introduce the A-Level content so you can make informed choices about what you want to study.

You'll use the Sixth Form facilities and experience life as a Sixth Former. You'll get lots of information about our enrichment programme and extra-curricular activities, how we'll support you with UCAS and apprenticeship applications and you'll get to know your peers with a problem solving activity.

This event is open to all of our 2024/25 applicants. Please log into your application and complete the Taster Day form to confirm your attendance.

We are welcoming students, their parents and carers to our Open Evening for admission to our Sixth Form in September 2025.

Across the evening there will be an opportunity to visit subject areas, meet teaching staff and current students for those subjects prospective students are considering for A Level study. There will also be a short talk about Sixth Form life at Mayfield Grammar School led by our Head of Sixth Form.

Admission to our Open Evening is by ticket only booked through EventBrite at Sixth Form Open Evening - Thursday 28th November 2024 Tickets, Thu 28 Nov 2024 at 18:00 | Eventbrite. When you book your ticket this will admit you to the school and the talk you have chosen. We suggest you arrive 15 minutes befroe your chosen talk, 6.00pm (for the 6.15pm talk), 6.40pm (for the 6.55pm talk) or 7.20pm (for the 7.35pm talk). Prospective students and their parents/carers should book one ticket per family (this will admit up to three people). Please note we are unable to accommodate siblings and prospective students should be accompanied by their parent/carer. You will be required to show your ticket upon arrival at the gate, either by mobile device or printed.

Guided tours of the main site are available or you are free to make your own way around the subject areas of interest.

Please note that we are unable to offer parking on site, we therefore ask that you leave sufficient time to park in the surrounding roads and walk to site, entry is via the main entrance on Pelham Road.

Our Sixth Form Open Evening is the starting point in the admissions process for the next academic year and the evening gives a great opportunity for students and their families to come to school, learn all about what subjects are like in the Sixth Form and have their questions answered from teachers, students and the Sixth Form team.

The evening is an in-person event with no need to register. It will consist of a main presentation in our school Theatre, followed by five subject presentations in classrooms around the school. 

Parents/Carers should arrive at 5.50pm and make their way to the Theatre for the welcome presentation that will begin promptly at 6.00pm.

The main presentation for the evening will outline the key aspects of the Sixth Form and give important information regarding Sixth Form pathways and entry requirements, along with information on pastoral structure, extracurricular and general Sixth Form expectations.

Subject presentations will be running throughout the school but mainly concentrated in the English, Science, Art, and Tech blocks. Maps and room locations will be available along with Sixth Form Prospectuses when you arrive to show you where these presentations are. Should families wish, there will also be current Sixth Form students on hand to guide and advise you throughout the evening.

All subject presentations will last 20 minutes with a 5-minute break period to allow families to move to their next chosen presentation. A bell will sound to signal the end of each 20-minute period.

I would like to take the opportunity to remind parents and carers that students are advised to visit the full five subject presentations to gain the most information out of the evening. Many students will know what they would like to study with us in the Sixth Form, however some may still be undecided; and so, having a full range of subject information may prove useful in making the most appropriate subject selection.

The Sixth form open evening for 2025 entry will be on the evening of 14th November 2024 from 4.45pm to 8pm.

Presentations from the Headteacher at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.

No booking required.

The evening will be an opportunity to tour the school and visit each department area to find out about the courses they offer.  

There will also be a welcome speech from the Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form.
